Message for U.S. Citizens – U.S. Consulate Operations Under COVID-19 COVID-19 Protection Framework RED
On January 23, the Government of New Zealand announced that all of New Zealand will move to red under the COVID-19 Protection Framework at 23:59 on Sunday, January 23, 2022. The U.S. Consulate General in Auckland operates under the Government of New Zealand’s COVID-19 Protection Framework.
During Red level, the Consulate is open and will continue to host applicants at their scheduled time. Applicants should plan to be exactly on time to your appointment; not early or late. Only the applicant (and parents of minors, as applicable) will be allowed inside the waiting area. If an escort is required, please contact the Consulate so we can add the escort to the schedule.
The Consulate requests all applicants scan in on the 3rd floor with the COVID Tracer App. If you don’t have a phone or the app, you will be asked to sign into our logbook. Masks must be worn at all times. If you have a mask exemption, please let us know in advance. If you are not yet fully vaccinated, please let us know so we can make suitable arrangements for your entry into the building.
We cannot currently accept cash for the applications. We also cannot accept EFTPOS. Please come prepared to pay the application fee with a credit card.
Applicants who cannot attend scheduled appointments must log in and cancel their appointments in the system. If you make multiple appointments, we cannot tell which appointment is the one you want and we will have to cancel all of the appointments. Please be considerate of others who may need an earlier appointment as our wait time is several months.
