Message for U.S. Citizens:  Elimination of Cash Payments for Routine Consular Services

Effective December 27, 2023,due to changes by our banking institution and local banking regulations, the Consulate General in Auckland will only accept cash payments in emergency situations.  All consular applicants needing to make payments at the Consulate will need to pay by credit card.  This applies to payments for all consular services, including all passport and visa fees collected at the Consulate.

Consular fees can be paid with any credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, or Diner’s Club).  U.S. debit cards are also accepted only if they carry the “VISA” symbol.  

Credit cards should be signed by the bearer and the bearer must be present.  We cannot accept PIN or payWave only cards.
