United States Ambassador Scott Brown is delighted to join New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Rt. Hon. Winston Peters, in announcing the full implementation of the Knowledgeable Innovators and Worthy Investors (KIWI) Act.

“From next Monday, June 10, eligible Kiwis will be able to get online and apply for a new class of visa,” says Ambassador Brown.

The KIWI Act is designed to facilitate business and commerce, through a non-immigrant category new for New Zealanders, the E1/E2 trade and investment visas.

“We know that a lot of businesses have been very eager to see this up and running—they certainly haven’t been shy about letting us know just how enthusiastic they are!” says Ambassador Brown.

“We’re expecting quite an influx of applications,” he adds.

The KIWI Act was passed with bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress in 2018 and signed by President Donald J. Trump in August.

“I’m really proud of how quickly our team and our Kiwi counterparts have been able to implement this,” says Ambassador Brown. “This is such great news for both countries.”
