COVID-19 – Important Notice regarding Visa and American Citizen Services

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

As of March 20, 2020, the United States Consulate in Auckland, New Zealand is suspending all routine consular services. All affected applicants have been notified via e-mail and will need to reschedule their interview for a future date.

Routine American Citizen Services that are suspended include notarial services, social security benefit hours, non-emergency passport services, and reports of birth abroad. We will continue to provide emergency assistance to U.S. citizens. In emergency situations, including deaths, arrests and crisis situations, please contact our ACS email: aucklandacs@state.gov. For immediate assistance, please visit our Contact Us page.

We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.  The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent non-immigrant visa query, please visit our Expedited Appointment page.

PLEASE NOTE: 

Any individuals with pending consular appointments who (1) were physically present within a territory covered by the Presidential Proclamations, within the last 14 days, (2) are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or (3) believe they have may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, are strongly encouraged to postpone their appointments by at least 14 days.  There is no fee to change an appointment and visa application fees are valid for one year in the country where the fee was paid.
