Today I mourn the passing of my dear friend Madeleine Albright
Today I mourn the passing of my dear friend Madeleine Albright. From her days as a student at Wellesley College with my wife Jill to our public service in Washington, Madeline has always been an inspiration to me. More than a friend, she was a passionate diplomat, trailblazing public servant, and a champion for peace and democracy around the world. She inspired countless young men and women to go into public service, including many that work at our U.S. Mission here. She was and is an eternal light for women, inspiring generations of female leaders. Madeleine was a champion of the American experiment – a free, open, diverse society striving to succeed. Rest in peace my friend – we’ll continue to carry your lessons forward. – U.S. Ambassador Udall.
