In response to the growing interest in U.S. sports scholarships among New Zealand high school athletes, the U.S. Embassy in New Zealand is hosting a representative from the Eligibility Center of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in March. We are fortunate to have Associate Director Ashley Thornburg visiting NZ and sharing her knowledge about eligibility requirements and the process of earning sports scholarships to universities in the U.S.
During her week in New Zealand, Ashley will visit Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. In addition to hosting a reception with key members of the New Zealand sporting community, Ashley will share her expertise with high school careers counselors and sports directors throughout the country. There will also be a series of public information sessions for aspiring student-athletes and their families, where Ashley will be joined by a panel of EducationUSA experts and former student-athletes.
