We are grateful to the Government and people of New Zealand for its support to the people of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. New Zealand has helped contribute to the 128,000 meals and 120 pallets of water since they arrived on ground, ready to eat to assist those affected by the hurricane.
We deeply appreciate New Zealand’s generous support, which is another example of the close friendship between the United States and New Zealand and the long history of each country helping each other in times of need.
Once the food is staged, members of the Warfighters, working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will distribute it to families still in need following the destruction of Hurricane Maria. The Warfighters have been supporting the recovery and relief efforts on Puerto Rico, and have distributed over 128,000 meals and 120 pallets of water since they arrived on ground.
New Zealand recently shipped 18 pallets of food to the island for distribution by the Warfighter Disaster Response Team working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The food will be given out to families still in need following the destruction of Hurricane Maria.
