Niue celebrates Constitution Day

Ambassador Brown with High Commissioner Fisa Pihigia of Niue to NZ, and staff, back in 2019. The Niue High Commission are neighbors to the U.S. Mission in Wellington.

Fakaalofa lahi atu kia mutolu oti. Much greetings to you all.

On behalf of the Government of the United States, I congratulate the people of Niue as you celebrate your forty-sixth Constitution Day on October 19.

The hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic have proven a challenge for us all.  As we adapt to a changed world and shape its future for the better, we look forward to growing cooperation with partners such as Niue that have long shared our core values.  Although travel restrictions currently prevent a visit to Niue, my team and I eagerly continue virtually building our great partnerships through virtual exchange programs, regular government conversations, as well as developing programs for potential visitors, speakers, and arts programs once travel resumes.

As you celebrate Niue’s constitution, I wish the people of Niue a peaceful and safe year to come. – U.S. Ambassador Brown.
