From April 16, 2021, U.S. Consulate Auckland began accepting online fee payments for adult U.S. passport renewal applications. Paying online allows you to mail your application to the U.S. Embassy without the need to apply in person. Qualifying adult passport renewal applicants may pay the passport renewal fee online via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S.-based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal.
For the list of Passport fees in US dollars, visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/fees.html
Please note that the online fee option is limited to U.S. citizens residing in New Zealand, Antarctica, Samoa, the Cook Islands, and Niue. U.S. citizens who reside outside of New Zealand, Antarctica, Samoa, the Cook Islands, and Niue are not eligible for the online fee payment option at this time. Online fee payment is currently available for passport book renewals only. If you wish to renew or apply for a passport card, you must make an appointment to apply in person at the Embassy or Consulate nearest you.
The U.S. Consulate General does not accept U.S. dollars; all fees must be paid in New Zealand dollars. We accept exact cash or credit card payment (in person only, and charged in US dollars) and do not accept personal checks, postal orders, or Eftpos.
