The Meet America program

The Meet America program provides Kiwi secondary school students with the opportunity to meet with Embassy officers, as well as American exchange students, teachers and researchers, to learn more about the culture, education, history, geography and literature of the United States.

Our goal is to get American diplomats talking face-to-face with people who want to hear from them and address topics students find interesting and important. Previous topics have ranged from Climate Change; Disinformation; Personal Development and Goal Setting; U.S. Elections; and U.S. History etc. During the meetings, speakers may present a short overview of a particular subject relating to American society and culture or talk more generally about their lives and then open the floor to discussion and questions.
