Sarah Nelson has been with the U.S. Department of State for 30 years serving in both the civil and foreign service. Most recently she was at the Naval War College. Her previous tours include China, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Canada, Papua New Guinea, Jordan, India, Washington, D.C and temporary duty to Samoa. While serving in Washington Sarah was detailed to the Department of Homeland Security’s office of Fraud Detection and National Security, serving as the Consular Affairs representative working on information sharing initiatives.
The daughter of a diplomat, Sarah lived in South Africa, Germany, and Pakistan before returning to the United States to complete her BA in Business Management. Sarah is married with no children but has two cats that have enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. In her spare time Sarah enjoys all forms of water sports.
