UPDATE (22/2/19): The Student-Athlete Information Session from 10-11am is now SOLD OUT. We have added a shorter second session from 12:30-1pm, and the University Sports Compliance Officer delivering the session will be available for individual Q&A during the University Fair. Please register to claim your seat, and don’t forget allow time to enjoy the University Fair before/after the session.
On March 2, 2019, the U.S. Embassy New Zealand will host the U.S. University Expo in partnership with EducationUSA and St. Cuthbert’s College. Admissions representatives from major U.S. universities will be available to answer questions from New Zealand students about studying in the United States.
“New Zealand students currently study in all 50 states and at more than 450 U.S. institutions. This is a unique opportunity for Kiwi students to meet representatives from American universities and have their questions on undergraduate study answered,” says EducationUSA Advisor Katie Sleeman.
The U.S. University Expo features a university fair, as well as ongoing information sessions on ‘Finding the Right Fit’ and ‘Navigating Financial Assistance’. The event is free and open to the public, although online registration is required. University delegates include the University of Delaware, Indiana University, the University of Akron, Grand Valley State University, and NYU Abu Dhabi.
Immediately preceding the University Fair, Briana Vargas, Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance at Indiana University, will be leading a Student-Athlete Info Session. It’s a great opportunity for students, parents, and coaches to dive deep into understanding eligibility requirements for university sports. New Zealand is a top-ten sender of student-athletes into the NCAA, the largest sporting regulatory organization in the United States.
