More Information:

The 7th Young Pacific Leaders Conference in Papua New Guinea will take place 21-24 April 2020 through a partnership between Cultural Vistas and the U.S. Department of State.

This comprehensive conference will provide emerging Pacific leaders, ages 25-35, with new skills and knowledge to advance the region’s economic vibrancy and civic engagement, thereby contributing to regional development. A diverse and highly selective group of young men and women will be chosen to participate in the conference from across New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, Australia, Fiji, the Federated States of Micronesia, French Polynesia, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Tokelau, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Hawaii. Outstanding alumni of previous conferences will be invited to participate.

At the conclusion of the conference all participants and YPL alumni will be eligible to compete for small grants to support projects in their countries and the region.  In addition, conference participants and the larger YPL community will participate in YPL LEADS throughout the month of May 2020, a month-long event highlighting YPL program through service-related activities in their community.

All travel, lodging and meals will be provided to selected participants. Applicants must be available to attend the full conference in April 2020, and participate in activities in May 2019.
